Randall Kahgee, former Chief of Saugeen Ojibway Nation and negotiator on DGR to give Keynote at Future of Nuclear 2015

PSTBiosIndivid-RandallWe are excited to announce that Randal Kahgee, former Chief of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, Partner at Pape, Salter Teillet LLP, and First Nations negotiator on the DGR near Kincardine, Ontario, will give the keynote speech at this year’s Future of Nuclear conference on November 10, 2015!

Kahgee served four terms as Chief of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation and is a specialist in aboriginal rights law and government-government negotiations.  He has extensive first-hand experience with negotiations between First Nations communities and federal and provincial governments on the construction of nuclear plants, transmission lines, and wind farms, and is currently involved in the negotiations on OPG’s deep geological repository, which is located on Saugeen Ojibway land.

Dr. Dale Klein to give opening Keynote at Future of Nuclear 2014 Conference

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Dale Klein will give the opening keynote address at the Future of Nuclear 2014 Conference on November 4 in Toronto, Ontario.

Dale Klein Photo V2Dr. Dale Klein has been associated with the University of Texas since 1977 in a variety of administrative and academic positions as well as a professor of mechanical engineering (nuclear program).  He served as a presidential appointee to the Nuclear, Chemical & Biological Defense Programs at the Pentagon from 2001 to 2006 and as Chairman of the U.S Nuclear Regulatory Commission from 2006 to 2009.

Dr. Dale Klein returned in 2010 as a professor of mechanical engineering (nuclear program) and as the associate director of the Energy Institute at the University of Texas at Austin.  In 2011 he became the Associate Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of Texas System.  He also serves on the Board of the Southern Company and Pinnacle West / Arizona Public Service.  Dr. Klein currently serves as the Chairman of the Nuclear Reform Monitoring Committee for the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO)

Dr. John Luxat will deliver luncheon keynote at Future of Nuclear 2013

The Future of Nuclear team is pleased to announce that Dr. John Luxat, Professor and NSERC/UNENE Industrial Research Chair in Nuclear Safety Analysis, Department of Engineering Physics, McMaster University, will make the lunch-hour keynote address at Future of Nuclear 2013, to be held October 9 at MaRS Discovery District.  To read the complete conference-day agenda, click here.

Dr. Luxat is a leading voice in the field of nuclear science with research expertise in nuclear safety analysis, experimental studies in nuclear safety thermalhydraulics, and theoretical modelling studies in nuclear safety thermalhydraulics, subjects in which he is widely published.  His work involves the modeling of systems, components and physical processes that are found in a nuclear power station.  He has an international reputation and an established record of leading-edge technical contributions in nuclear engineering and nuclear safety analysis.

Dr. Luxat holds a P. Eng. and a Ph.D. in the fields of Nuclear Safety, Nuclear Engineering, Thermalhydraulics, and Reactor Physics.  He has served as Industrial Research Chair in Nuclear Safety Analysis with the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) since 2004.
